Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion over a proposed transfer of Yves Bissouma, according to numerous reports. The North Londoners, who managed to secure a place in next season’s Champions League in a desperate scramble down to the final matchday of the Premier League campaign, will be paying £25 million for the services of the 25-year-old defensive midfielder.
Bissouma joined the Seagulls from LOSC Lille for around £15m in 2018. Since then, he’s gone on to make a total of 124 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals. His ability to read the game, intercept passes and break up opposition play is highly rated and his services have consequently been in high demand. Manchester United and Arsenal were said to be monitoring the situation but neither took concrete steps in time. Aston Villa are said to have made an actual offer in January, but Brighton rejected it.
The Mali international is now set to become the latest piece of the puzzle for Antonio Conte’s Spurs.
