Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Southampton duo Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez, according to the Mail Online.
The North London club were the last Premier League outfit to make new additions to their squad after completing deals for Swansea City pair Ben Davies and Michel Vorm just last week, but now look set to continue spending as they strengthen for the new campaign.
Southampton have already sold Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers in the close season, and their exodus looks set to continue.
Midfielder Schneiderlin made thirty-six appearances in all competitions last season, scoring twice, and also featured at this summer’s World Cup finals, playing in France’s 0-0 draw with Ecuador.
Rodriguez was the Saints top scorer with fifteen Premier League goals, and also looked set to go to Brazil before an anterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up towards the end of the campaign scuppered his chances.
