Tottenham Hotspur are considering RB Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann as a potential replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, according to The Times.
The future of the Argentine tactician with the club has come into severe doubt due to underwhelming results this season. Spurs have been beaten out of the Carabao Cup by League Two side Colchester United, they are currently 14th in the Premier League, and though they have secured passage into the knockout stages of the Champions League, the campaign saw them humiliated by 2-7 at their own ground at the hands of Bayern Munich.
There is a belief at the club that Pochettino will leave at the end of the summer, and he has apparently held talks with chairman Daniel Levy about the situation during the international break.
Spurs have been following the progress of Nagelsmann closely. Nicknamed “Mini Mourinho”, he was appointed as the Hoffenheim boss at the age of 28 and took them to the Champions League. He made the switch to Leipzig in June, and at the age of 32, he is the youngest manager ever to have led a team in 100 Bundesliga matches.
