Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Southampton’s Luke Shaw, according to the Metro.
The North London club have identified the England U21 international as an alternative option to Real Madrid’s Fabio Coentrao, with manager Andre Villas-Boas attempts to bring in a new left back.
Shaw, who was linked with a move to Premier League champions Manchester United in the summer, has emerged as one of the best players in his position in the division.
At just eighteen years old, he has already racked up 34 top flight appearances, and has been a key part of a Saints defence that has conceded a division-best five goals this season.
The club currently sit in third in the division, and remarkably, could go to the top of the league if they win at leaders Arsenal, and Liverpool drop points in the Merseyside derby.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are currently priced at 16/1 to finish in the top four for the first time in thirty years.
