Tottenham Hotspur have contracted the representatives of Houssem Aouar to get a clearer picture on what it would take to sign the Olympique Lyon midfielder before the transfer window closes, according to Sky Sports.
Aouar has been heavily linked with Arsenal since last summer, when he reportedly accepted their offer of personal terms being keen on a Premier League switch, but the two clubs failed to reach an agreement over the transfer fee. Reports of the Gunners maintaining their interest persisted over the months that followed, but their midfield requirements have been filled by the arrivals of Albert Sambi Lokonga and Martin Odegaard, as well as the stay of Granit Xhaka.
Meanwhile, Spurs are obviously delighted that Harry Kane has confirmed he would be staying at the club this season, and it seems they’re trying to boost their ranks still to prove their trophy ambitions to the star striker. Their league season started extremely well, with Nuno Espirito Santo overseeing wins over Kane’s suitors and defending champions Manchester City, and his own former club, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
