A report from the Daily Mirror is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Aston Villa front man Christian Benteke in the summer transfer window.
Benteke has been in fine form for the Villains since joining at the start of the English Premier League campaign, scoring eleven goals and looking as though he is a player that can go to the highest level.
At just 22-years-old, the Belgian certainly has a lot of potential and with Villa in a relegation battle in the top flight, a number of clubs are sure to be looking at securing his services.
Paul Lambert signed the striker from Genk for £7 million and he is now worth a lot more than that.
Tottenham are keen to add a goal-scorer to their squad as they have just Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor to call upon.
Benteke is a power-house forward that is a real nuisance for the opposition defenders and alongside Defoe, he could be part of a superb strike partnership.
Much might depend on how Villa do in the league this campaign. If they go down, he is all but certain to be on his way out of the club in the summer.
