Tottenham Hotspur are keen on securing a deal for West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino, according to the Mirror.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen to form a club partnership between the Burundi born forward and Harry Kane, who are teammates at international level for England’s U21s.
Since making his debut for West Brom, Berahino has racked up eighty-one appearances, scoring twenty-nine goals, while his tally of fourteen in the Premier League last season was better by just two other Englishmen – Kane and Queens Park Rangers’ Charlie Austin.
The twenty-one year old received his first senior international call up back in November, but was an unused substitute in the Euro 2016 qualifying victory over Slovenia and the friendly win over Scotland.
He has two years remaining on his £15,000 per week deal at the Hawthorns, though the Baggies are keen to offer him an improved deal which could see his wages double.
