Radio Monte Carlo has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on Newcastle United winger Florian Thauvin.
The 24-year-old largely struggled in English Premier League after joining from Marseille, but he has been in excellent form since returning to Stade Velodrome on loan.
Thauvin is enjoying the most successful season of his career having bagged 12 goals in 33 Ligue 1 outings, and his scintillating showings clearly did not go unnoticed.
The highly rated footballer could be returning to English Premier League in the summer, but he is unlikely to remain at St James’ Park.
Namely, Tottenham Hotspur manager is seriously thinking about making a move on Thauvin and he even consulted his friend and mentor Marcelo Bielsa, who worked with the player at Stade Velodrome.
Few more top clubs have been casting admiring glances towards the former Bastia star, while Marseille will obviously attempt to agree a permanent deal for his services.
