Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur are considering a January bid for River Plate striker Teofilo Gutierrez, Daily Mirror can reveal.
It is no secret that manager Mauricio Pochettino is far from satisfied with his current attacking options and the Colombia star is one of the first names on his wish list.
According to Daily Mirror, Spurs had their scouts watch the 29-year-old footballer in last week’s derby against Velez Sarsfield.
Gutierrez has been in scintillating form this season, bagging 10 goals in 12 league appearances, while he also netted for Colombia in Friday’s friendly against United States.
Even with los Cafeteros spoilt for choices up front, the River Plate star has been Jose Pekerman’s first choice striker and he started four matches at the 2014 World Cup, scoring one goal.
With the forward now available for mere £5 million, Tottenham Hotspur are widely tipped to step up their interest in January.
