French daily newspaper L’Equipe is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur and Marseille are locked in the battle for Barcelona midfielder Alex Song.
With Xavi Hernandez staying at Camp Nou and Ivan Rakitic arriving from Sevilla, the Cameroon star is no longer in the first team plans of boss Luis Enrique.
He is, therefore, looking to leave the Catalans in search of first team football, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly leading the chase.
Spurs want the 26-year-old to reinforce the centre of the park, but it remains to be seen if the former Arsenal starlet will be interested in joining the Gunners’ arch rivals.
Meanwhile, French giants Marseille are also hot on the trail of Song and they are prepared to make a move if their deal for Benjamin Stambouli falls through.
Alex Song would reportedly be open to joining Marcelo Bielsa’s side with OM officials hoping they have what it takes to win the race for the player’s signature.
