Tottenham Hotspur are working hard to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
A report earlier revealed that Spurs are also in talks with Inter Milan with a view to sell out-of-favour midfielder Tanguy Ndombele to the Serie A club, and it seems the prospect of parting ways with their club record signing from last year potentially opens up space for adding a player of similar characteristics to their ranks.
It has also been reported that Everton were very serious about signing Hojbjerg themselves and even had a bid of £25 million accepted by Southampton, but it seems the 24-year-old is waiting to see if a possibility of a more attractive destination will appear on the horizon.
Spurs were also interested in AS Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo and inquired about a potential move, but they found the door firmly shut with the club from the Italian capital unwilling to even consider selling the 21-year-old midfielder.
