Spurs readying January bid for Barcelona midfielder

El Mundo Deportivo has learned that Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their efforts to sign Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.

Spurs have been keeping close tabs on the 24-year-old for quite some time and they also watched him in weekend’s triumph over Athletic Club.

Tottenham scouts were quite happy with how Gomes fared at San Mames and latest reports suggest that the North London outfit are preparing a winter bid for the Portugal international.

Spurs are well aware of the fact that their target is a bit-part player at Camp Nou and they hope Barcelona will consider selling him in the winter.

Despite only starting two La Liga fixtures this season, Andre Gomes is still held in high regard by top European clubs, with Juventus, Man City and AC Milan some of his suitors.
