Spurs set to miss out on Damiao

Tottenham Hotpsur look set to miss out on signing Leandro Damiao after his club Internacional accepted an offer from Santos, according to the Metro.

The North London club have been linked with a move for the Brazil international for the last three transfer windows, and were thought to be planning a move next month.

However, Santos appear to leading the race to secure his services after having an offer of £12m accepted earlier this week, meaning that Spurs’ boss Andre Villas Boas may need to look elsewhere as he looks to add firepower to his goal-shy squad.

Tottenham have scored just fifteen goals in the league so far this season; half as much as rivals and league leaders Arsenal and the lowest of the sides currently sitting in the top half of the division.

They host Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, and are priced at 11/10 to score at least twice in the game.
