Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes is a loan target for North London club Tottenham, according to the Guardian.
The Portuguese midfielder has been struggling for game time under manager Ernesto Valverde, having not started a single game this season and only featuring five times from the substitutes bench so far. In a year where the talented midfielder will have to earn his place in the Portugal side for the upcoming World Cup, Gomes needs to be playing week in, week out.
North London looks like to could be the place for Gomes to do just this, as Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly interested in bringing the midfielder in on loan. Tottenham failed to sign the Portuguese international in the summer, but they will get another chance in January.
The London club currently sit third in the Premier League table, but with the Manchester clubs looking so strong a talented midfield addition such as Gomes in January would strengthen Spurs’ title challenge.
