According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur have submitted an official offer for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin. The offer is believed to consist of €25 million as the fixed part of the fee, with further €5 million potentially to come later in the form of add-ons.
Meanwhile, Spurs right-back Djed Spence could go the other way on loan.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is forced to work around a number of injury issues that have severely hit his defensive department, with Cristian Romero not expected back until the end of the month, while there’s no return date set for Ben Davies or Eric Dier. Furthermore, the latter is being heavily linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich at the moment. With these problems in mind, it only makes sense for the North London club to make a move for a new name to supplement their existing crop of defenders.
Dragusin has been a proper stalwart for Genoa’s back line this season, playing 90 minutes in all 19 Serie A matches so far. He has scored two goals and contributed one assist, but the fact that he has been booked only once is arguably even more impressive for a centre-back. The 21-year-old Romania international also started all three Coppa Italia matches, until Lazio took his team out of the competition in early December in the round of 16.
