Spurs to attract new keeper’s coach

Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Tony Parks to replace Austrian Hans Leitert as keeper’s coach.

Leitert was dismissed last week as result of goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes’ poor performance in recent games. The final drop was a bad mistake during Spurs’ league game with Fulham, when the Brazilian allowed the ball to slip away and into the goal.

Parks, whose famous 1984 penalty save helped Tottenham to that year’s UEFA Cup trophy, should improve Gomes’ performance at the London-based side.

The Brazilian’s position between the posts is anything but certain though. Ben Alnwick should return after being loaned out to Carlisle United and Spaniard Cesar continues to be another option in goal.
