Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make a January bid for Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao, reports London Evening Standard.
Spurs already missed out on the Portugal international in the summer, but they look set to reignite their interest in the player.
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas holds the full-back in high regard and he is hoping Coentrao will change his mind after initially rejecting a move to White Hart Lane.
The 25-year-old has revealed his dismay at the treatment at Santiago Bernabeu on numerous occasions and he is clearly unhappy at playing second fiddle to Marcelo.
However, with Real Madrid not too keen on selling the Portuguese defender, it is clear Spurs will have to delve deep into their pockets if they want to lure Coentrao to the Lane.
Having had a decent start to the new Premier League campaign, albeit struggling up front, Tottenham are 11/8 to achieve a top 4 finish.
