Spurs to pursue Pickford despite new Everton contract

Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing Jordan Pickford this summer, according to Sky Sports, despite the England goalkeeper signing a new Everton contract recently, set to keep him on Merseyside for four and a half years more.

The 28-year-old was heavily linked with Spurs before the renewal, as his previous deal was to enter its final 12 months at the end of this season, but it seems little has changed when it comes to the North Londoners looking to make him the long-term successor to Hugo Lloris.

Their push to get a deal done will obviously receive a significant boost if Everton end up relegated, which seems a real possibility at this point. The Toffees are currently in 15th place, with just one point separating them from the relegation zone, and they have played a game more than every team below.

If Pickford goes to North London, he will be following in the footsteps of Richarlison, who left Everton for Spurs last summer.
