Competition: FAI Cup

Market: St Patrick’s Athletic win and over 2.5 goals

Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365

Handed a golden chance to extend on their eye-catching run of form, St Patrick’s will travel to the UCD Bowl on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting a season-worst display in their embarrassing 10-1 defeat away at Bohemain’s last weekend, UCD are a side worryingly low on confidence and form. Still sat firmly at the foot of the Premier Division and 10 points adrift from extending their Irish top-flight status, a huge part of their continued issues this season has been their defensive struggles. Along with shipping 10 on the road over the weekend, Collie O’Neill’s men have shipped a staggering 22 goals in just their last five appearances and Friday could prove to be another extremely tough test.

As for the visitors, while UCD might be a form low on confidence, St Patrick’s are enjoying quite the resurge of late. Putting in another strong display in their 2-1 victory over Sligo Rovers last weekend, Harry Kenny’s men are enjoying a three-match winning run and their form outside of Dublin has continued to shine. Including a 1-0 victory over Cork City earlier in the month, St Patrick’s have won three of their last four matches away from Richmond Park and Friday’s guests should be confident of extending their FAI Cup run when they travel to the Bowl on Friday night.
