Standard again fail to win

Belgian champions Standard de Liege haven’t found the right form just yet. Only a late equaliser could avoid defeat at Germinal Beerschot on Friday.

Standard hadn’t managed to beat newly promoted Sint-Truiden last week and again failed to convince in their second game.

Instead, Germinal took the lead on 70 minutes when former striker Bart Goor beat the opposing keeper with a well-performed lob.

Standard did at least secure a point as Milan Jovanovic found his way past two defenders before putting the ball past keeper Pacovski.
