Standard de Liege failed to reclaim their first place in the Belgian league, crashing to a humiliating 4-1 defeat by Cercle Brugge.
De Smet put the home side in the lead just before the break but had his goal cancelled out by Sarr in the 52nd minute.
At this point, Standard were already down to ten as Dante conceded a second yellow card in the 40th minute.
Cercle were the better side in the second half, and Portier restored their lead just after the hour mark.
After a direct red card to Ingrao in the 82nd minute, leaving Standard with nine players on the pitch, Cercle extended their lead through Boi and De Smet, 4-1.
Standard have the same amount of points as Anderlecht, but the Brussels outfit have a better goal difference and occupy the top spot.
