Saint Etienne have announced that the club have parted ways with midfielder Steed Malbranque by mutual consent.
The 31-year-old had only arrived at Stade Geoffroy Guichard at the beginning of August, but has now decided to leave les Verts.
The Ligue 1 club have announced the news on their official website earlier this morning.
“At a meeting held on Monday night in the administrative centre of the Etrat training centre between the management of Saint Etienne and Steed Malbrqnue, both parties have decided, by mutual agreement, to amicably terminate their partnership,” read the statement.
“The management of Saint Etienne would like to wish Steed all the best for his future choices in life.”
Malbranque only played 26 minutes for his new club after arriving from Sunderland, having entered the pitch as a second-half substitute in Saint Etienne’s draw with Marseille.
