One of the most prolific Bundesliga strikers Stefan Kiessling has announced his desire to remain at Bayer despite several hefty offers from other clubs.
Germany international, who scored 21 Bundesliga goals last season, has attracted an interest of clubs like Schalke and Rubin Kazan this summer.
The club from Gelsenkirchen were willing to offer as much as 14 million euros for the 26-year-old striker, but Kiessling has quashed any speculation by agreeing to stay at Leverkusen.
“I have not renewed my contract in Leverkusen until 2015 just to leave the club few months later. I want to honor this contract and do not expect to leave Leverkusen!,” said Kiessling.
This will come as great news to Bayer officials since the Germany international was one of star performers last season and everyone expects him to continue his goalscoring form.
