Metro is reporting that Manchester United are weighing up a January bid for Ajax starlet Stefano Denswil.
The 20-year-old has largely impressed this season having finally been given a chance to command a regular starting berth, with the Amsterdammers offering the youngster a new and improved deal.
However, the talks haven’t progressed according to plan, adding fuel to speculations that Denswil could leave the club in January.
Namely, the centre-back currently has a contract until June 2015 at Amsterdam ArenA, and Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer him an escape route from Ajax.
The Red Devils are actively seeking for defensive reinforcements given the fact both Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are well past their prime.
As a result, Manchester United are readying a £5 million bid for Denswil, with the Premier League side even prepared to loan the stopper back to Ajax until the end of the season.
