Marseille midfielder Stephane Mbia has confirmed he is set to sign a deal with Premier League side Queens Park Rangers.
The Cameroon international has been heavily linked with a summer exit from Velodrome, with club president Vicent Labrune confirming the player could leave this summer.
While the French giants are closing in on the transfer of Joey Barton from Queens Park Rangers, Stephane Mbia has revealed that he is set to move the other way.
“Marseille will always remain in my heart,” the midfielder confessed to Le Parisien. “I have won my first title here.
“I have chosen Queens Park Rangers despite the last minute offer from Fenerbahce. This is a new challenge. I want to go even higher.
”I agree with this championship. I will discover another world.”
The midfielder, who can also play as a central defender, has spent last three seasons at Velodrome, after arriving in a €12 million deal from Rennes.
The 26-year-old has made 69 Ligue 1 appearances for OM and scored 5 goals in the process.
He arrives to Loftus Road at a time when the club officials are also closing in on Julio Cesar and Esteban Granero.
