Swansea City are winning the race to sign Raheem Sterling on loan from Liverpool, according to the Mirror.
The Reds are close to securing a deal for Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, and will allow the England international to move away temporarily if and when the Basel moves to Merseyside.
Sterlling has been a regular in Brendan Rodgers’ side this season with fifteen Premier League appearances, and three goals in his last seven.
With Rodgers’ keen for the 19 year old to continue his development, he would support a move to the club he managed before moving to Anfield.
Liverpool host Oldham Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon, and Sterling is available at a price of 15/2 to open the scoring.
It is the third meeting between the sides in the last three seasons, with the Reds winning in their third round clash in 2012, before being knocked out a stage later last season.
