Though claiming he is happy at Manchester City right now, Raheem Sterling refuses to rule out joining Real Madrid at some point in the future.
The Premier League champions have been banned from European competitions for the next two seasons, and even though they intend to fight the UEFA decision with everything they’ve got, speculations have begun about their players potentially wanting to leave to play in the Champions League. With the prospect of not being included in the elite competition next season and the Premier League title all but lost (Liverpool are ahead by 22 points), many expect City to make the Champions League their priority this term, and the first obstacle in that path is Real Madrid.
The first game is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu, and in the light of the clash, Sterling spoke to AS about the prospect of playing for Los Blancos in the future. The winger recently reaffirmed his commitment to Manchester City and he still maintains that he’s happy at the Etihad right now, but he also adds that Real are a fantastic club, and he allowed himself to get photographed with a City shirt on one shoulder, and a Real one on the other.
