Raheem Sterling is on the verge of putting pen to paper on a new deal with Liverpool, according to the Metro.
The winger, who has enjoyed a dramatic rise to prominence over the past eighteen months, will begin talks in the next two weeks as he has a clause in his current contract forcing both parties to hold discussions once he makes his ninetieth appearance for the Reds.
He has three goals in seven league games for Brendan Rodgers side so far this season taking his all-time total for the club to fifteen in eighty-two appearances in all competitions.
The news of a new deal comes days after fellow England international Daniel Sturridge committed his future to the Merseyside club.
Liverpool returned to winning ways by beating West Bromwich Albion by two goals to one on Saturday afternoon – a result which saw them move to within a point of the top four.
