According to Sky Sports, Raheem Sterling has verbally agreed to a new five year deal with Manchester City. The English star has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid but he appears to be set on remaining at the Etihad, after much speculation over his future. The 23 year old has been on an absolute tear since joining City from Liverpool back in 2015, firmly establishing himself as one of the most effective players in European football.
Sterling’s representatives have reached an agreement with City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain, and the deal is expected to be made official within the next few weeks or so. Now, with this out of the way, Sterling can focus on helping City to not only try and retain their Premier League title, but also bring them their first European Cup with the club being the favourites to lift the Champions League trophy this season.
