Steve Bruce set for Sheffield Wednesday

According to Sky Sports News, Sheffield Wednesday are set to confirm Steve Bruce as their new manager as their issues continue to plague their season. The signing of Bruce will certainly divide opinion amongst the fanbase, with some believing that he’s a promotion expert whereas others consider him to be overrated. Of course, he falls into the same category as many other older managers around English football, whether that’s a good thing or it’s not.

Bruce left his position as Aston Villa manager earlier this year followed increased scrutiny, but now, it appears he’s ready to dive straight back into the Football League.

While nobody is going to expect him to work wonders at Hillsborough overnight, there is a chance that this could prove to be a big return to form for him. In order to make that happen, though, he needs to be given the kind of assurances that he perhaps hasn’t been given elsewhere in the past.
