Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is open to leaving the Ibrox club and taking charge of Aston Villa, according to Sky Sports. It has been reported that Premier League club Villa are interested in appointing Gerrard as their new manager, and the former Liverpool midfielder himself is keen on the switch.
Villa recently sacked Dean Smith as their manager. Smith lost his job at Villa Park following a run of five defeats in the Premier League. The Villans are 16th in the league table at the moment with 10 points from 11 matches, just two points above the relegation zone.
Gerrard has been in charge of Rangers since the summer of 2018. The former England international midfielder led the Gers to the Scottish Premiership title last season. Rangers are at the top of the league table at the moment with 30 points from 13 matches, four points clear of second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic.
