RB Leipzig still haven’t been contacted over a potential transfer for Timo Werner, manager Ralf Rangnick has revealed.
Speaking on Doppelpass on German television station Sport1, Rangnick said that the club’s stance on the matter hasn’t changed – if Werner does not sign a contract extension soon, he will be sold this summer.
Given the situation, Werner is practically given the green light to speak to other clubs, and once he finds an offer that suits him and agrees personal terms, the prospective buyer should contact Leipzig with an offer of a transfer fee. However, according to the Bundesliga side’s manager, it still hasn’t happened.
There was much talk of Bayern Munich having agreed a deal, but Rangnick has dismissed that. He said that the striker might not want to go to Munich, that he might want to join Thomas Tuchel at Paris Saint-Germain, Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, or Lucien Favre at Borussia Dortmund.
