According to Sky Sports, there has been no official approach for either Thierry Henry or Roberto Martinez regarding the vacant managerial position at Aston Villa. The two men are leading the charge with the Belgium national team, who recently finished in 3rd place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, although both have been heavily linked with a move to Aston Villa.
Ironically enough, despite being the assistant to Martinez, it appears as if Henry is still the number one choice for the Championship side. Villa are without a man in charge ever since Steve Bruce was sacked, due to his poor start to the season.
Villa’s biggest goal this season is still to gain promotion back up to the Premier League, and despite their setbacks in the early stages of the campaign, that’s still considered to be a realistic possibility by both their own fans and some members of the media.
