Chelsea are lining up a surprise move for Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper David Stockdale, according to the Daily Star.
The Premier League leaders are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper to provide back-up for Thibaut Courtois, with current second choice shot-stopper Asmir Begovic likely to leave in search of regular first team football.
Stockdale has been a key part of the Seagull’s promotion charge this season but is out of contract in the summer and could be swayed by a potential move to the champions elect.
The thirty-one year old has been with Brighton for the past three seasons, racking up one hundred and thirty-eight appearances for the club in all competitions.
Prior to his switch to the Amex Stadium, he spent six seasons with Fulham but was shipped out on loan for the majority of that spell, turning out for Rotherham United, Leicester City, Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town and Hull City.
