Stoke and Cardiff agree to swap Jones and Odemwinge

Stoke City have agreed a deal to swap Kenwyne Jones for fellow striker Peter Odemwinge of Cardiff City, the Mail Online understands.

The Potters have announced that the deal is imminent, subject to both players passing medicals and agreeing personal terms.

Trinidad and Tobago international Jones has been with Stoke for the past three and a half seasons having secured a move from Sunderland in the summer of 2010, while he also enjoyed a brief loan spell with the Potters at the end of the 2005/06 campaign.

In total, he has made 130 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 31 goals.

Odemwinge, who this time last year was reprimanded for attempting to force through a move from his then club West Bromwich Albion to Queens Park Rangers, has only been with Cardiff since the summer.

In fifteen appearances for the Welsh club, the Nigeria international has scored just twice.
