Stoke City have submitted an official proposal for Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen, BBC Sport can reveal.
The Reds are looking to cash in on the Wales international seeing as though he has entered the final year of his contract.
Allen is in high demand after impressing at the European Championship finals and his former club Swansea were the favourites for his signature until recently.
However, it would appear as though Stoke City have moved to the front of the queue, having offered £13 million for the 26-year-old footballer.
Manager Mark Hughes is determined to help the team continue to progress and he is also pondering bid for West Bromwich starlet Saido Berahino.
Joe Allen was one of Wales’ star performers at the Euros as the Dragons reached a semi-final of a major international competition for the first time ever, and he is now set to cash in on his excellent displays.
