The Telegraph understands that Premier League outfit Stoke City are considering a move for Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.
The Frenchman is not in the first team plans of Jurgen Klopp and he will be allowed to leave before the summer transfer window closes.
As a result, Stoke City manager Mark Hughes will attempt to bring Sakho to Britannia Stadium on a season-long loan.
The Welshman is not entirely satisfied with the performances of Ryan Shawcross and Philipp Wollscheid, and he hopes the arrival of the French centre-back will add more steel to his back line.
Mamadou Sakho missed the Euro 2016 finals after he was wrongfully accused of doping, and he has struggled to prove his worth to Jurgen Klopp despite being cleared of all charges.
The Frenchman never quite managed to impress at Anfield, even though he amassed a total of 56 Premier League appearances for the Reds.
