Premier League outfit Stoke City are reportedly in pole position to sign FC Porto midfielder Gianelli Imbula, French media outlet L’Equipe can reveal.
Despite only joining the Dragons in the summer from Marseille, the French footballer could soon be leaving Estadio do Dragao.
Imbula has failed to prove his worth this season and with the majority of his contract owned by an investment company, there are no obstacles to him moving clubs as early as this month.
While Aston Villa, Southampton and West Bromwich are also keen, Stoke City have emerged as front-runners for his signature.
Manager Mark Hughes has been in contact with the player and it is believed the Potters are readying €25 million bid at the moment.
Following the bright start to the season that saw them climb to seventh in the Premier League standings, the Potters are now available at 8/11 to achieve a top table finish.
