Lille midfielder Soualiho Meite has made a permanent switch to Zulte-Waregem, according to L’Equipe.
The 22-year-old joined the Belgian side on an 18-month loan deal in February 2016, and he quickly developed into an important player for the team.
With the likes of Monaco, Stoke and Crystal Palace all showing interest in the youngster’s services, Zulte-Waregem decided to trigger a €300,000 buy-out clause.
However, that does not mean that Lille will miss out on a bumper payout if Meite joins a top European club in the summer, considering that les Dogues are entitled to 60% of his next transfer fee.
Chances are that Meite will be leaving his current employers for greener pastures at the end of the current campaign, with both Lille and Zulte-Waregem set to turn a nice profit.
The talented footballer has so far made 38 league appearances in Belgium, scoring 1 goal.
