ESPN are today reporting that Stoke City midfielder Wilson Palacios is set to leave the club in this emergency loan window as they look to trim down their ever growing wage bill.
The Potters brought plenty of new faces to the Britannia Stadium during the summer window and although Palacios has been included in the 25-man English Premier League squad – it is thought that he will be offloaded for a few months.
Plenty of English Championship teams are likely to be keen on signing the Honduras international, who has failed to settle in at Stoke since joining from Tottenham for £7 million last year.
There is no doubt that his top flight experience and power in the centre of midfield would be a great addition to any club in the Championship, however his wages are said to be fairly high and it may be tough for anyone in the second tier to pay him.
If that is the case, then the former Spurs man could be heading abroad. At the moment, it is thought that he is training with the development squad and is desperate to play some first-team football to show manager Tony Pulis what he is capable of.
