Andrea Stramaccioni is confident that Inter president Massimo Moratti has a plan to get the club back on track.
Inter will miss out on Champions League football next season after finishing sixth, but Stramaccioni has little doubt that the club will be back fighting for silverware again in 2012-13.
“Considering the situation we were in when I arrived at Inter, reaching Europe was the minimum objective,” he told Rai Sport 1.
“Now the season is over and we’re all focussed on working to get Inter back to the place in the standings we deserve to be.
“Some people have suggested Moratti doesn’t want to invest much in the squad for the future. Not as far as I know.
“In spite of how it might sometimes seem, he has clear ideas on how to return Inter to greatness.
“There was also a lot of bitterness over the defeat (against Lazio), but there’s also the desire to start again right away as Inter should, by challenging for important objectives.”
Inter leave Italy for a tour of Indonesia on May 22, where they will play two friendlies.
