Market: Strasburg win

Odds: 3/1 @ Bet 365

Really enjoying a successful run of form in the second half of the season, a resurgent Strasbourg will travel to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Wednesday night.

Starting with Jean-Louis Gasset’s side, coming off the back of another worrying display in their 3-0 hammering away at Rennes, Saint Etienne find themselves on a worrying run of form. Now without a win in their last four appearances, including crashing out of the Coupe de France at the hands of Dijon, the Green and Whites now remain in a firm battle to secure European football. Now recording just one clean sheet since the start of the New Year, it will be their form at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard giving Gasset the biggest headache. Saint Etienne have lost their last two matches at home, conceding eight goals.

As for the visitors, while Strasbourg might be coming off the back of a 2-1 loss to Angers over the weekend, the mood in Thierry Laurey’s camp should be on a high. Now winning four of their last five Ligue 1 matches, a run that stems back to the middle of December, it will be their form on the road most impressing fans around the Stade de la Meinau. Putting five past Monaco in their last appearance away from home, Strasbourg have won three of their last four matches on their travels. Losing just one away match in their last eight, we’re backing a surprise victory for the visitors on Wednesday.
