Competition: Championship
Market: Wigan to finish in the top-six
Odds: 9/1 @ 888 Sport
Wigan Athletic recently appointed former Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay as their new boss, with the Latics having previously struggled in the Championship that led to the sacking of Uwe Rosler. Mackay took Cardiff to the Premier League in his last job, before a publicised fallout with club owner Vincent Tan saw him sacked from the club.
Last season, Rosler led Wigan to 5th in the league, but saw his side fall short in the playoffs, losing 2-1 to eventual winners Queens Park Rangers. The following campaign has been disappointing, with Wigan losing seven and drawn seven in 17 league games. Athletic are currently 22nd in the table, 12 points off a playoff place, and with Mackay now in charge the objective is to have them climbing up the table.
888 Sport are giving odds of 9/1 for Wigan to finish in the top-six of the Championship this season under Mackay, with the Scot having experience of leading a club to promotion previously.
