He may be a European champion, but he is still without the club. Liverpool have won the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday evening, but Daniel Sturrdige was not there. The English striker has been released by the club, following the expiration of his final contract at Liverpool and he is now close to moving to Turkey, if Sky Sports are to be believed.
They are reporting that Sturridge is in talks with both Besiktas and Trabzonspor. The former Liverpool forward has been without the club since 1 July and still has not been picked up by any club, not even one in the Premier League. Because of that, the move abroad is very likely, as Premier League clubs have submitted their squads which cannot be changed before the start of 2020.
However, clubs from Turkey are not the only ones interested in the 29-year-old, as Eintracht Frankfurt and Atalanta were reportedly also a possibility.
