Sturridge linked with shock Serie A switch

Napoli have been linked with a shock move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, according to the Express.

The twenty-six year old has had a tough eighteen months at Anfield, racking up only eighteen league appearances since the summer of 2014 due to ongoing injury problems.

Despite recently returning to full fitness, manager Jurgen Klopp is easing the England international back into first team action slowly with his start against Aston Villa last month his first since in October.

In total, he has played just seventy-nine times for the Reds in all competitions since signing from Chelsea almost four years, scoring forty-six goals.

He could be set to move on at the end of the season, and Serie A title chasers Napoli are readying a £20m move.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are three points behind Juventus with nine games remaining and can be backed at 9/4 to win the league.
