fooball-betting-tips-newsLiverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that star striker Daniel Sturridge could return into contention in time for the away fixture against Stoke City on 12th January.

The highly rated forward has been sidelined through an ankle injury since the 3-3 draw against Everton on 23rd November, but finally appears to be closing in on his return.

Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard is also nearing his return although he is set to miss tomorrow’s clash against Hull City, where the Reds are 2/7 to return to winning ways.

“Daniel might not be too far over the next few weeks,” said Rodgers. “He was out running the other day doing straight-line running and he is now doing more multi-directional running and then next week he will have a good week of training. He is ahead of schedule so he’s doing well.

“Steven will be around it as well. Over the next couple of weeks we will get those players back and it will look brighter for us.

“Unfortunately Joe (Allen) will probably be a few weeks with an abductor strain and with Sakho we’re just waiting for confirmation on his hamstring strain.”

Following back to back defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea, Liverpool are 10/1 for the league title and 10/11 for a top 4 finish.

The return of Daniel Sturridge will be a huge boost for the club, with the forward having enjoyed a bright start to the season, notching 9 goals in 12 Premier League outings.
