While Premier League giants Liverpool look for many ludicrous ways to spend the £142 they generated from the sale of Philippe Coutinho, they are also looking to offload a number of players. One player set to be axed is Daniel Sturridge, who has been heavily linked with a move to Italy.
Earlier in the week it was Inter Milan who were keen on the striker, initially with a loan deal, but now Roma have joined the race, according to the Liverpool Echo. Whether the Serie A giants will look for a permanent deal or a loan option remains to be seen, but the Reds seem keen to get £30m for the England international.
Sturridge is in his sixth season with the Merseyside club, but, aside from a wonderful season in partnership with Luis Suarez, he has largely failed to establish either consistent game time or form. With a World Cup coming up in the summer, the striker needs a move if he is to force his way into Gareth Southgate’s thinking for the England squad.
