Former Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber appears to have found himself a new club if reports from Kicker are to be believed.
The German media outlet states that the experienced 28-year-old defender is set to sign for Stuttgart on a free transfer. Five-time Bundesliga champions will thus remain in the German top flight despite heavy interest from abroad.
Premier League runners-up Tottenham have been linked with a move for the defender in recent weeks, although Badstuber has also eyed by West Brom and Swansea. Former Bayern Munich defender is sadi to have been engaged in negotiations with Sevilla and Sporting CP, but has in the end decided to stay in his homeland.
Badstuber is expected to add plenty of value, quality and experience to Stuttgart’s youthful backline comprised of Timo Baumgartl, Marcin Kaminski, Benjamin Pavard, Jerome Onguene and Anto Grgic the oldest of which is 25.
Holger Badstuber has so far made 129 Bundesliga appearances. He spent the last season playing for Schalke where he made only ten top flight outings.
