Luis Suarez recently revealed that he was aware his time with Barcelona may be coming to an end soon, and there have been plenty of names thrown about in various speculative media reports about who the player to carry the torch afterwards might be. The controversial Uruguay international was asked by One Football about his views on the matter, and the first name he mentioned was Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham.
The 22-year-old has been given a go as the first-choice striker at Chelsea by manager Frank Lampard, ahead of the likes of Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi, and Lampard’s faith has been well repaid. Only Leicester’s Jamie Vardy (12) has scored more goals in this Premier League campaign than Abraham (10), and the youngster is proving to be a very capable spearhead for the London Blues.
Suarez praised his finishing ability and especially his movements, which are usually the mark of a more experienced striker.
Apart from Abraham, he also named Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and his compatriot, Maxi Gomez of Valencia, as great options.
