Borussia Dortmund gave a green light to Serbian defender Neven Subotic to open negotiations with interested clubs and it did not take long to the 28-year-old to find the new surroundings.
According to German outlet Bild, former Middlesbrough target is set to stay in the Bundesliga as FK Koln appear to have agreed a loan move for the injury-prone centre-back.
Subotic has reportedly already left the Westfalenstadion after the two clubs agreed on a short-term deal as a replacement for Mergim Mavraj, who joined Hamburg earlier this month.
The Serbian defender has struggled with a number of injury setbacks over the period of last season as he was forced out for 168 days with a knee injury.
Subotic returned to training at the beginning of 2017, but is yet to make a single Bundesliga appearance in the ongoing season.
The 28-year-old defender did however play two Regionalliga games upon return from injury, scoring one goal in the process.
